Rooted in History

The firehouse has been a cornerstone of the Hague community for over 75 years and we are honored to guide it into its chapter.

The Sexton Sisters Photography Tent

Long before there was a firehouse, this land belonged to the Sexton sisters: trailblazing photographers who set up a photography tent on this very site.

A Firehouse for Hague

When the cost of calling Ticonderoga's fire department rose to $100 a call, the townspeople of Hague decided it was time to take care of their own, and the Hague Volunteer Fire Department was born.

Our Current Building

As the department grew it needed more space! The current building was constructed on land generously donated by neighbor Bertha Barton Burt.

The Firehouse Becomes

The Hague Firehouse Restaurant opened its doors to the public after Sheri DeLarm and Cris Ginn saw something special and transformed the building into a warm, welcoming restaurant overlooking Hague Brook. They honored the building's history at every turn, and we are proud to carry that torch.

Sullivan's Firehouse Today

The Sullivan family purchased the firehouse so we could carry its legacy forward with deep gratitude and a whole lot of love.

Callie has spent 35 years visiting Northern Lake George with her late husband’s family, the Sullivans. Her children, Jessie, Lila, and Tiger are also committed to sharing the joy and connection that they feel at their family table in Lake George.

Sullivan’s Firehouse is a tribute to the extraordinary times shared here with their dad Tighe, with friends, and with a landscape that has shaped who they are.

Meet Chef Joe...

Born and raised in Ticonderoga, Chef Joe Messier's very first job was in this kitchen - making his return to Sullivan's Firehouse a true full-circle moment.

Joe studied at SUNY Cobleskill, where he developed a deep appreciation for farm-to-table cooking through hands-on work with agriculture, fisheries, and wildlife programs. He then refined his craft across Maine, New York, and Florida - in kitchens including The Small Point Club in Bath, Maine; The Huddle in Bolton Landing; and Tavern by the Bay in Naples - before returning home to Ticonderoga. In Ti, Joe has contributed his talents to local institutions including the Employees Mutual Association and Knights of Columbus #333.

An avid outdoorsman, Joe forages for wild mushrooms and edible flowers, often incorporating them directly into his dishes. Joining him is his fiancée Molly, who serves as restaurant manager. Together, they've become an integral part of the Sullivan family and are at the heart of everything we're building on Graphite Mountain Road.
